Each morning, we get up and run these same stairs. Well, really more of a jog, and a slow one at that. But after 7 trips up and 7 trips down, it feels like Everest. This ritual occurs in our local Oakland cemetery – designed by Frederick Law Olmsted who created Central Park in NYC. We are surrounded by what I call the Elders – gorgeous and bountiful trees with majestic spreads that have been here for over a hundred years. They are calming.
